The Business, Engineering & Industrial Technology Division at Southwest provides top quality courses to meet the educational needs of its students and their goals. The Division also provides trained manpower for the service region through curricula designed to meet the needs of the service region business community.
Engineering Technology education focuses on the applications aspects of science and engineering aimed at preparing graduates for practice in that portion of the technological spectrum closest to the product improvement, manufacturing, and engineering operational functions. The engineering technology programs offer associate and baccalaureate degrees in a variety of technological fields. Associate degrees may be earned in architectural, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering technology. Graduates of these programs are trained for job entry at the technician level into industry, utilities, government, or engineering, construction, and architectural firms.

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is a public, four-year residential liberal arts college located in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia. The only branch campus of the University of Virginia, College at Wise was founded in 1954 and currently enrolls over 2,000 students.
